Hand Sanitiser Recipe – Gel or Spray?

Right now we are smack, bang in the middle of flu season and the best way to stay clear of all the bugs  hanging around is to avoid them in the first place. How do we do this?  Keep our hands clean! While it is not always convenient to wash your hands sufficiently it is easy to make up a small bottle with our hand sanitiser recipe that you can keep in your handbag, drawer at work or the car.

Firstly you need to decide on whether to make a hand sanitiser gel or spray? It is the great DIY divider! Speaking for myself I love a gel. But I know plenty of you swear by making a DIY hand sanitiser spray.

ByMe has all your bottle needs covered with 50ml & 100ml pharmaceutical grade amber glass bottles that can be purchased with either a fine mist sprayer or gel pump. Finally give your bottles the designer look by labelling them with our removable and re-usuable static cling vinyl decals.

DIY Hand Sanitiser Recipe – Gel

Ingredients

5 tablespoons aloe vera gel
4 tablespoons water
1/4 teaspoon vitamin E oil
25 drops essential oil (a quality protective blend or research your own germ busting oils)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl combine aloe vera gel and vitamin E oil.
  2. Add essential oils to aloe vera mixture.
  3. Add water and mix well to combine. Add more or less water depending on the consistency you want.
  4. Pour into amber glass bottle (a small funnel or even a cake piping bag will help with this).
  5. Attach gel pump closure and label with a ByMe mini Hand Sanitiser Decal.

DIY Hand Sanitiser Recipe – Spray

Ingredients

2 tablespoon witch hazel
4 teaspoons aloe vera gel
1/2 teaspoon Vitamin E oil
25 drops essential oil (a quality protective blend or research your own germ busting oils)

Instructions

  1. In a small jug with a good pouring spout combine witch hazel, aloe, vera gel and vitamin E oil.
  2. Add essential oils and mix to combine.
  3. Pour into amber glass bottle (a small funnel will help with this).
  4. Attach fine mist sprayer closure and ByMe mini Hand Sanitiser Decal.

These recipes will make more than one bottle of mixture (depending on the size bottle you use) so have some extra bottles on hand.

Happy mixing!
