DIY All Purpose Surface Cleaner

DIY All Purpose Surface Cleaner

Makes: 500ml Container: By Me 500ml Glass Spray Bottle Difficulty: Easy Time: 2 minutes

One ingredient. Two minutes. Every surface sorted.

This is the recipe we come back to again and again - and for good reason. A small amount of Castile Soap diluted in water is all you need to cut through everyday grease, grime, and mess on almost any surface in your home. No synthetic fragrance, no harsh chemicals, no residue.

Simple. Effective. Done.

What You'll Need

  • 1 tbsp Castile Soap
  • Water (filtered or tap, to fill)
  • 1 x By Me 500ml Glass Spray Bottle

Why Castile Soap?

Castile Soap is a true plant-based soap - made from saponified vegetable oils with no synthetic detergents or fillers. It's a natural surfactant, which means it lifts and suspends grease and grime so water can rinse it away. Biodegradable, gentle on skin, and safe to use around kids and pets.

One tablespoon is genuinely all you need. More soap doesn't mean more clean - it just means more residue to wipe off.

Method

  1. Add 1 tbsp of Castile Soap to your By Me glass spray bottle.
  2. Fill to the top with water.
  3. Screw on the spray top and give it a gentle swirl to combine.

To Use

Spray directly onto surfaces and wipe clean with a cloth. Works on benchtops, stovetops, sinks, tiles, appliances, and more.

One Important Note

Castile Soap does not mix with acidic ingredients - if you add vinegar or citric acid to this formula it will curdle and stop working. If you want to tackle hard water marks or soap scum, use a separate citric acid spray rather than combining the two in one bottle.

  • Water (filtered or tap, to fill)

Method

  • Add 1 tbsp of Castile Soap to your By Me glass spray bottle.
