DIY Natural Toilet Cleaning Fizzers

DIY Natural Toilet Cleaning Fizzers

Because Cleaning the Toilet Shouldn’t Mean Breathing Toxic Fumes

Those strong, fake, chemical smells from store-bought toilet cleaners? Nobody likes them. And while a good scrub with the toilet brush might seem like enough, sometimes you need a little extra help keeping the bathroom fresh—especially in busy households!

But filling your home with harsh chemicals and synthetic fragrances isn’t the answer.

Ready to ditch the toxic cleaners and make your own?

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate)
  • 1/2 cup Citric Acid
  • 20 drops of essential oil (Recommend: 7 Tea Tree, 7 Lemon, 7 Eucalyptus)
  • Water in spray bottle for misting

Method

  • Mix the baking soda and citric acid in a bowl.
  • Add the essential oils and continue mixing.
  • Mist with a little water – just a couple of sprays (not too much – you don’t want it to start fizzing yet), continuing to mix. You’re aiming for a damp sand texture.
  • Press the mixture into your moulds. Press down with the back of a metal dessert spoon to get them packed nice and tight.
  • Let them dry for 24 – 48 hours. They need to be bone dry before storing.
  • Store in an airtight container, out of reach of small children.
  • Note: Regarding the water misting, you should only need 1 – 3 mists of water.
